Community Connect documentation
Everything you need to connect your store to your community and let membership run itself.
Community Connect links your Shopify customers to your private Discord and Telegram communities and keeps access in sync automatically. You set spend tiers; each customer earns the matching role the moment they qualify, and a nightly reconciliation keeps everyone's access accurate as they buy, refund, or churn.
How it works
- Connect your community. Link your Discord server (and Telegram, on Pro) so the app can place members in the right roles.
- Define spend tiers. Create tiers by lifetime net spend and map each one to a Discord role — for example, a "VIP" role for customers past a certain threshold.
- Customers link their account. Buyers connect their Discord through the storefront widget or an emailed invite, and are placed in the tier they've earned.
- Reconciliation keeps it accurate. Every night the app re-checks each member and adjusts roles as spend changes — granting access to new qualifiers and removing it after refunds or chargebacks.
Core concepts
Net spend
Access is based on lifetime net spend — all paid orders minus refunds and chargebacks. It is not tied to a single product or a fixed date range, so a customer's tier always reflects their true, current relationship with your store.
Tiers and roles
A tier is a spend threshold; each tier maps to one Discord role. A customer is placed in the highest tier they've cleared. Change a threshold and the next reconciliation re-sorts everyone automatically — no manual role edits.
Reconciliation
The nightly reconciliation sweep is what keeps your community honest. It grants roles to newly qualifying customers, removes roles when spend drops below a threshold (after refunds or chargebacks), and can flag members who are in your server but haven't purchased. Read-only and privacy-first. Community Connect never writes to your Shopify store, stores only the data it needs (with customer email and name encrypted at rest), and sends nothing about your customers to Discord beyond the role assignment they authorize. See the privacy policy.
